Antipasto Skewers

When you are “Entertaining Elegantly” – it does not need to be stuffy or stuck-up or difficult! Throwing your food “on a stick” is a great way to have beautiful presentation, easy to grab goodies, that everyone will love!

Make skewered antipastos for your next picnic, they are perfect for a grab and go hearty bite between whatever activity you have going on with your picnic. No need to grab junk food or stop your fun to sit and eat – grab a stick & have fun. You could also enjoy these as tasty appetizers, a great way to start off your next party and impress your friends. These skewered antipastos are even perfect for a formal gathering (maybe in a tall vase).

This “recipe” is not even much of a recipe – it is pretty much just an inspiration guideline, so have fun! Get ready for some impressed friends (and you don’t even have to tell them how easy and fun they were to make)

Antipasto Skewers

  • tomato (grape or cherry)
  • tortellini
  • basil
  • string cheese, sliced
  • pepperoni
  • others options: bread, salami, ham, or Italian Flavors of choosing

Get your skewers & have all of your ingredients ready. Choose a pattern & flavor combination that makes you smile & just get to arranging a few pieces of tasty goodies onto each skewer. There is really nothing more to this than making a combination of flavors that you like, putting them on sticks, & then arranging on a platter (or maybe even in small groupings of tall clear vases).

Happy Entertaining!

And I leave you with this, Today’s Question of the Day… What is your favorite *easy* treat to create when entertaining?

  1. This is a great idea. I need to keep this in mind. Looks good and is tasty. So many possibilities!

  2. MMmmmm!! Sounds great! But may I suggest using boccacini, small balls of fresh mozzarella, instead of the string cheese. Oh, and perhaps a balsamic reduction lightly drizzled on top!

    • YES, for sure!! I made these for a picnic and went for a more cost-effective alternative (that I knew would travel well if the temps got a little warm). Next time I make these, I will go more high-end though, thanks 🙂

  3. I have something Friday night where I need to bring an appetizer/snack item. I was planning on looking up a recipe online when I got your email with this! It’s perfect 🙂

  4. What a great idea! This is a perfect summer appetizer!
